Technology and the Nursing Profession

Technology improves the communication in the nursing profession and provides many benefits to the profession. Nurses can communicate much faster with the assistance from technology. Nurses can use headsets rather than telephones to communicate to the other nurses. Head sets are more sufficient because the nurse can speak directly to the other nurses without calling for them. Technology makes the communication to a quicker process, and accommodates the patients in a professional and caring manner. Nurses can spend the quality time with the patient and provide the proper environment, instead of spending a significant amount of time paging the other nurses for assistance. Technology provides the nurses the communication needed to keep as much time with the patient.
